Ayurveda

Namaste and thank you for your interest in Bhavana Institute’s Ayurveda training programs.

Ayurveda, the perennial healing tradition of the Vedas, embodies a tradition of practices that are particularly relevant for today’s modern world.  We invite you to participate in this exciting endeavor to learn the ultimate methodology of self-care, that can not only be applied to your own life, but can be taught to others to assist them in their own healing journey.

At Bhavana we understand the principles of adult-education and strive to offer you an experience that honors who you are and where you are at in your journey.  We hope that you will take this opportunity to experience the deep change that these teachings can bring.

The trainings that we offer are open to everyone with a desire to learn.  They are a perfect complement to those already engaged in health or healing professions, such as, doctors, nurses, chiropractors, massage therapists, yoga teachers, psychologists, mothers, fathers, dieticians; as well as for those who are seeking a new understanding of themselves.

Each program is designed to systematically introduce the student to the philosophy and practices of Ayurveda; help the student integrate these practices into their lives; and learn how to guide others in these practices.

Specifically designed for working adults and busy householders, the Level One and Two programs meet for 20 hours one weekend a month for 10 months*.  The Internship is self-directed and may take up to a year to complete.  At the completion of each level a Certificate of Completion is awarded.

Between class meetings students are expected to complete homework assignments that emphasize the practical integration of Ayurveda into their lives.  They also must complete a designated amount of elective credit that is earned outside of the classroom.

The classes are held in a 1000 sq ft natural-light-filled space dedicated to Ayurveda.  The space includes a light, airy classroom; a kitchen; a fully equipped treatment room; and a retail space dedicated to Ayurveda personal care products.

Feel free to give us a call and arrange a visit.  The Ayurveda contact number is 708-870-1204.  Looking forward to meeting you.
